Heartwalk Event Idea Forum

Ok guys, we need to lock down and get some good ideas flowing for this. At the Heartwalk on Sat Oct 13th, we will be running activity booths for the children that are there. These will be run from 8am-1pm. We need fun ideas for the children but we also have to remember that whatever ideas we come up with, we will need supplies for. Add comments to this thread so we can discuss some ideas and come up with a game plan. The heartwalk coordinator is expecting an answer from us by Weds 9/26 so please post by then if you have ideas. Thanks everyone!!

Maybe we can come up with some quick and easy relays for teams so that there can be quick competitions and the children can move on. Supplies would depend on the relay ideas.

Here are a couple. They are listed as websites:

I really like the ideas the second site had to offer. You have to scroll down to the bottom where is says activity booth ideas.

This site has a few ideas for booth projects. I like the relay idea because it's quick and easy. Ooh, we could have a relay race of balloons. Each participant would have to go a certain distance and come back with a balloon holding it in between their knees without dropping it (sort of like the egg on a spoon race).

i just read this idea and it sounds fun. for supplies we would need a baby pool, 2 dozen easter eggs, and packing peanuts. haha that is a funny shopping list.
anyway, the eggs are all hidden in the pool under the peanuts. children are divided into small relay teams. one at a time they go to pool, find an egg and race back to team. this continues until the race is over and new teams are made. the twist is that each egg has a verb written on it and that is how the player must go back to their team. (ex: crawl, jump, etc)
i have a little baby pool so this would be cheap and can accomodate a bunch of kids at a time or just a few. -Jess
